![]() ![]() I think going to college, making friends, getting laid, having a social life, and living in the real world instead of a conceptual online world gradually made me start to think a little deeper about things and stop seeing the world through a black and white anti-theist moral lens. I don’t think there was a particular moment where I stopped believing all that stuff though. One of my proudest moments during this time in my life was being invited by a middle aged lady to a private Ayn Rand discussion group on Facebook(Yes, I was one of those people). I struggled to describe my political world view as none of the major parties truly represent my ideology, until I eventually stumbled onto a term that perfectly encapsulated my superior world view, the term was “classical liberal”(No joke). ![]() I was basically alt right lite without the the anti Semitic conspiracies(I always had an aversion to conspiracy theories). Democracy was obviously bullshit coz low IQ got to vote. I also flirted a bit with the Race/IQ stuff but was never convinced. I genuinely thought the only problem with a Muslim genocide was a matter of logistics. I launched countless condescending rants about how we needed to eliminate all religion and sneered at casually religious folks who I was obviously better than. I was convinced everyone gave a shit I was an atheist (they did not). I don’t know about others here but as a teenager, I had an edgy atheist phase where I blathered on about biblical contradictions and quoted Richard Dawkins to anyone who would listen. Islam and the Future of Tolerance (with Maajid Nawaz)įor me, it was because I’d gone through a somewhat similar phase as a teenager.
